Hamilton Intermediate School Fifth Graders Showcase Innovation at Invention Convention
Fifth grade students at Hamilton Intermediate School proudly welcomed parents and families to their first annual Invention Convention, a culminating project that celebrated creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. As part of Harrison Public Schools' commitment to hands-on learning, students took on the role of inventors and engineers, identifying real-world problems and designing original solutions.
Over the course of the project, students researched everyday challenges, developed inventive ideas, and constructed prototypes using recycled and household materials. Through the engineering design process, they tested their creations, made improvements, and learned the value of perseverance and critical thinking.
During the convention, students presented their inventions through engaging trifold displays and oral presentations, explaining the problems they sought to solve, how their inventions worked, and the impact their ideas could have on others. The projects reflected a wide range of creative thinking and demonstrated the students' ability to apply classroom learning to real-world situations.
Parents, families, and staff members were impressed by the ingenuity, confidence, and enthusiasm displayed by the young inventors. The event was a wonderful showcase of the talent and hard work of Hamilton Intermediate School's fifth graders and highlighted the innovative spirit fostered throughout Harrison Public Schools.
The Invention Convention was a memorable success, inspiring students to think creatively, solve problems, and recognize that even the biggest ideas can begin with a simple question: "How can I make things better?"
